Yet to consider demand to contest from two seats: CM Siddaramaiah

BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday said he is yet to consider party leaders' invitation to contest from Badami or any other assembly segment in north Karnataka. Siddaramaiah has already made it clear that he is contesting from Chamundeshwari in Mysuru and has started campaigning there.

Speaking to reporters in the city, Siddaramaiah admitted that party leaders have invited him to contest from Badami or any other assembly segment in North Karnataka. "That is true, but I have not decided on contesting from two assembly segments," he said and expressed confidence that he will win from Chamundeshwari segment.

Siddaramaiah said JD (S) state president HD Kumaraswamy and BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa seem to have joined hands to make an attempt to defeat him in Chamundeshwari assembly segment. "In 2006, they had joined hands, but who won the elections? Even now, Kumaraswamy and Yeddyurappa have come together, but I will win the election," he added.Refuting allegations that he is using official machinery for electioneering, Siddaramaiah said he has not done that in the past and will not do in this year's elections too.

I have not invited him to campaign for the party,” he said. Last week, Sudeep had met JD(S) state president HD Kumaraswamy. After the meeting, Kumaraswamy had stated that he had invited the actor to join the party or campaign for it, ahead of May 12 elections.
