HONNALI: Severely criticising ticket for the constituency to M P Renukacharya, supporters of ex-MLA D B Gangappa on Tuesday took on the streets in the town.

The supporters who shouted slogans against the party for not considering the staunch party workers and giving tickets to KJP migrant and former excise minister Renukacharya alleged that BJP which is known for discipline is slowly leaving all its ideologies and is strictly adhered to getting power.

He also urged the party high command to change the BJP candidate from the constituency in the larger interest of protecting the party. Continuing Renukacharya to be the candidate may cause damage as he is known for anti-party activities, which he did during the earlier regime.

BJP leaders A B Hanumanthappa, Dr Rajkumar, Narendra Suthige, Lokesh, K G Ramesh, Basavarajappa and others took part in the protest.
