Will not be surprised if Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi escapes from country: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah

ATHANI: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said both the Modis - Lalit Modi and Nirav Modi have escaped with public money in front of the open eyes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. No person could dare to do such an economical offence without getting assistance from highly influenced dignitaries from the central government, he alleged.

Addressing the ‘Janashirwad Yatre’ here on Saturday, Siddaramaiah said Lalit Modi left the nation with IPL money and Nirav Modi with public money from Punjab National Bank. The offences were not possible without the indirect support of Prime Minister, he alleged.Siddaramaiah said after escape of both the Modis, people of the nation are eagerly looking towards next Modi who would follow both the formers.

“It will not be a surprise if PM Modi himself escapes from the nation. Modi is the latest example for high-tech corruption,” he added.

Siddaramaiah said Modi and BJP president Amit Shah without knowing what was going behind them were speaking about the non-existing corruption in the state. Siddaramaiah said there were several investigating agencies, let Modi inquire about the alleged corruption in the state.

Siddaramaiah said he has asked the Prime Minister to release the evidence for corruption, to which he is mute. He described Modi was unworthy to become the prime minister of the nation as he failed to prove the charges levelled. Siddaramaiah said Modi was discussing about the alleged corruption in the state by keeping corrupt people around him.

As Modi had described his government as ‘10 per cent commission’ government, Siddaramaiah said Modi government was 90 per cent corrupt government. He said people of the nation who used to talk about Gujarat Model are now speaking about Karnataka Model for the development works being done.

Siddaramaiah said the central government has not released a single rupee for Mahamasthakabhisheka.

Rahul addresses Strishakti Samavesha

TIKOTA: AICC president Rahul Gandhi personally assured the women folk that the upcoming election will see more women contesting and said once the Congress returns to power, more women ministers will surely be there. Addressing Strishakti Samavesha on Saturday, Rahul said: “We brought in reservation to women in Panchayats and are trying to extend reservation for women in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha also.” 

Rahul attempts to settle Jarkiholi row   

AICC president Rahul Gandhi tried to settle the row between Jarkiholi brothers - Ramesh Jarkiholi and Satish Jarkiholi. As the state leaders knew about the dispute between two the brothers, Mallikarjun Kharge took Ramesh Jarkiholi and introduced him to Rahul. Rahul asked Kharge about Satish Jarkiholi. Rahul took the two brothers to the side and spoke to them for about two to three minutes and returned to his seat.
