HYDERABAD: Alleging that the Central government has not extended any assistance to Telangana farmers so far, Congress members on Sunday wanted to know why Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had not questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this issue.

“Lakhs of farmers suffered huge losses due to drought and other natural calamities from 2014-2018 in Telangana. However, none of them have got any compensation from the Centre so far. Why has KCR not questioned Modi on his failure to send Central relief to affected farmers in TS?,” TPCC chief spokesperson Dasoju Sravan said.

In an open letter written to the Chief Minister on Sunday, Sravan alleged that KCR’s recent meeting with the Prime Minister had not yielded any results for the State. He said the State government had failed to pressure the Centre on the Railway Coach Factory at Kazipet, Steel Plant at Bayyaram, Tribal University and national institutions which were promised in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.
