Missing Karnataka girl’s body found in hostel room

HASSAN: The body of Class 10 girl Madhurya, who had gone missing on June 16, was found in her hostel room on Saturday.Madhurya’s parents had filed a missing person case. The police, following the complaint, went to her room in government pre-metric hostel in Hassan on Saturday and found her body.
Madhurya allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison.  Interestingly, the hostel warden and her friends were not aware that Madhurya had been lying dead in her room. 

Sources said that Madhurya, a native of Malledevarahalli in Hassan taluk, went on a trip to Mysuru along with her friends on June 16 and she had been missing since then. Her friends, who had accompanied her were returned hostel same day. It is said that Madhurya, who left her friends in Mysuru, returned to the hostel on the same day separately.

The police have arrested Arun Kumar of KR Nagar, Mahesh Kumar of Chamarajanagar and Shrathraj of  Chowdenahalli village of Hassan taluk as they had allegedly accompanied Madhurya after she left her friends. The police are interrogating the trio in this connection.  The women police also have registered cases under Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO). Her parents want the police to probe the matter impartially.
