HUBBALLI: The explosion that resulted in a boy losing his leg and another suffering injuries remains a mystery as the probe into the incident is inconclusive.
On Wednesday, Rakesh Hugar suffered injuries on his both legs and Manjunath Singeri was hurt on his eye. The locals attributed the injuries to an explosion in the underground high tension cable laid recently. HESCOM has authorised an investigation into the incident.
They visited the accident spot. Sources in HESCOM claim that the boy’s kite might have hovered near the overhead 220 kV power line and grounding of fault electricity of 14,000 amperes might have resulted in the blast.
