BELAGAVI: The Shri Mahalaxmi Yatra Utsav Committee (SMYUC) has urged devotees to avoid smearing bhandara (holy powder) after a number of devotees reportedly contracted various infections like rashes and burning of eyes during the commencement of the fair at Khanapur. “Instead of smearing bhandara, offer flowers to please the goddess,” committee members said.
