One of the long pending demands of students in the state has finally been addressed in Siddaramaiah’s budget for 2018-19.
This is the highest ever budgetary allocation for BMRCL in the state budget. In 2016, it was earmarked Rs 1,881 crore, while in 2017 it was allocated Rs 2,566.39 crore.
The state government has accepted the Sixth Pay Commission recommendation and will soon issue a notification increasing their pay by 30 percent.
A total expenditure of Rs 11.981 has been provided for SC/ST, backward classes and minorities.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s budget has a total outlay of Rs5,371 crore for women and child welfare department.
