TRIPUNITHURA: A  KSRTC driver was brutally attacked by two autorickshaw drivers. The incident took place on Tuesday morning near Tripunithura Junction.

"We are moving at a snail's pace from the railway over bridge. When the bus reached before the Boys High School, an auto chased the bus and prevented it from moving," Sujeesh, grade II driver of a KSRTC bus plying between Piravom and Aluva, said.

Alleging that the bus driver did not give way to the autorickshaw, the auto driver began to abuse the bus driver. Meanwhile, another autorickshaw driver pulled down the bus driver and brutally manhandled him. Seeing this, the passengers and conductor K M Raju questioned the auto drivers, and the two fled the scene. Sujeesh was later admitted to the Taluk Hospital with serious injuries on his chest and hip. Later, KSRTC inspector K D Abraham filed a complaint with the Hill Palace police station.

On the basis of his complaint, Hill Palace police arrested Mohanan, 26, of Mulakkal Prambu, Kannankulangara, who allegedly attacked Sujeesh. "We are searching for the other autorickshaw driver," Hill Palace police station SI S Jayakrishnan said.
