ABVP demands fresh probe into DB College murder case

The Akhila Bharathiya Vidyarthi Parishad has urged the State Government to initiate steps for the setting of a special investigation team to reopen the Parumala Pampa DB College murder case of 1996, involving the death of students Anu P S,  Sujith and Kim Karunakaran.

Addressing a news conference here on Monday, ABVP state secretary M Anishkumar, P C Sasi, the father of Anu and P Sivadasan Nair, the father of Sujith said that the murder of the three students of Parumala DB College was on the same lines of the declaration of CPM Idukki district secretary M M Mani and the revelation of T K Rajesh in the T P Chandrasekharan murder case that the party used to prepare a list for protection of the real culprits.

In the case involving the murder of the three Parumala DB College students, the verdict of the Pathanamthitta Additional Sessions Judge in the year 2000 substantiated the same line.

The court in its verdict blamed the police for their failure in the timely intervention and lack of sincerity and responsibility in the conduct of the inquiry and the irresponsibility on the part of the police in handling the case, they said.
