24x7 medical assistance for pilgrims

By offering medical assistance to an average 500 pilgrims a day, the Government Ayurveda Medical Centre at the south-end of the Valiyanadapandal has been giving solace to the pilgrims who need medical assistance.

A seven-member medical team, including three doctors and four para-medical personnel, has been offering 24-hour medical assistance to the pilgrims and Devaswom and Government employees on Sabarimala duty. During the peak pilgrimage season, the strength of the medical team will go up  between 10 and 15.

Specialist cadre Ayurveda doctors will be available at the hospital during the Makaravilakku season.

At Pampa Ayurveda Hospital, an average of 300 patients are given treatment daily.

The number of patients will be four to five times higher during the Makaravilakku season.  During such peak times, the patients will be forced to stand outside the hospital premises waiting for their turn, due to the lack of space in hospital.
