Settlement offer for undervalued land registration

The State Government has decided to offer a one-time settlement for the undervalued land registration in the state.

Undervalued registrations made between 1986 and March 31, 2012 will be included in the settlement by calculating the stamp value. For land up to 5 cents in the Corporation limits the settlement charge will be Rs 2,000, municipal areas Rs1,000 and exempted for panchayat areas.

For the land registration from 5 cents to 10 cents, it will be Rs 5,000 in Corporations, Rs 3,000 in municipalities and Rs 1,000 for panchayat limits.

For 10 to 50 cents it will be Rs 10,000 in Corporations, Rs 5,000 in municipalities and Rs 2,000 in panchayat limits. For land more than 50 cents it will be six per cent of the stamp duty paid earlier or Rs 12,000, four per cent in municipalities or Rs 7,000 and two per cent in panchayat areas, whichever is higher.

Those who have remitted the amount in the earlier one-time settlement should not participate. Notices to those undervalued registrations will be sent to the respective persons from the District Registrar Office.

Those who receive the notices should remit the fee at the registrar office and collect the receipt. Those who are not able to pay the money directly can sent a demand draft in the name of the District Registrar (General).
