Will Saritha S Nair, the con woman under custody in the Callgate-Solar scam, spill the beans once she is out in the open and rock the entire political spectrum of the state?
The inroads she had made into the corridors of power dates back to the days of the former LDF Government and more vigorously pursued under the present UDF Government points to the fact that many had fallen to her charms over and above mere Solar solutions.
Though the investigation team is tight-lipped on many things and concentrating on the aspect of huge financial fraud and cheating against scores of gullible investors and solar energy seekers by Saritha and her partner Biju Radhakrishnan, the array of dignitaries, including ministers, former ministers and MLAs in her call list, apart from many other prominent figures, including top government officials and a few mediapersons, has become an eye-opener.
‘’Establishing contacts with the high and mighty was her forte,’’ said a well-known Congress leader, who was also approached by Saritha once with some request.
Tenny Joppan, the sacked Clerk-PA of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who had paid a price for his fraudulent links with Saritha, was apparently only a small fry in her scheme of things.
While Opposition deputy leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s name is in her call list, a sitting CPM MLA had a close relationship with her during the former government’s tenure.
‘’She had a knack to make the vulnerable lot to toe her line,’’ the leader recalled.
Biju Radhakrishnan had been reiterating in the open that it was the out-of-the-way relationship between Saritha Nair and former minister K B Ganesh Kumar which turned out to be the nemesis of his Team Solar business.
But information gathered by cops in the course of the ongoing investigation has enough to tag a sleaze episode itself in the entire acts of Saritha’s Solar business.
