P C George should show more maturity, patience: Ramesh

KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala has come down heavily on Government Chief Whip P C George, saying that he should show some maturity and patience while dealing with the issues being faced by the UDF. Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Chennithala ruled out any move to remove Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan from the post of Home Minister. He also rubbished the possibility of a Cabinet reshuffle soon.

According to Chennithala, P C George should maintain patience while dealing with certain issues. “He should refrain from commenting on each and every matter under the Sun. He should know his responsibility and act accordingly. As the Government Chief Whip, he should work for uniting all the parties in the UDF. He should show more maturity in dealing with such issues,” Ramesh said.

Chennithala also denied reports that there is a move to remove Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan from the Home Minister post. “No discussion was held with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy or within the party on any matter linked to Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. I don’t believe that the Home Minister has done anything wrong. We had conducted a meeting with Thiruvanchoor the other day regarding the progress of the probe into the Solar scam. We have no issue in Thiruvanchoor continuing as Home Minster. At present, there is no plan for a Cabinet reshuffle. The ADGP has been entrusted with the investigation into the leaking of phonecall details of the ministers,” he said.

He said that just by checking the phone call details, one cannot confirm that the ministers and other politicians are involved in the case. “People should check whether the government has given any kind of assistance to the fraud company,” he said. Chennithala agreed that there are certain issues among various parties, including the Muslim League. “The issues will be resolved through talks. The UDF will face the issue unitedly,” he said. Taking a dig at the LDF, Chennithala said that they are playing a dirty political game. “The LDF is putting the blame on the government to divert people’s attention from certain issues. Our leaders and party workers will unitedly face these allegations. The LDF is raising false allegations and criticism, but once the investigation in the the solar case is completed, the public will come to know that the charges raised by the LDF were bogus,” he said.
