VS: Chandy should resign immediately

Stepping up the pressure on the Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to resign in view of his alleged role in the solar scam, Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan said that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had no right to continue for a moment in view of the High Court’s remarks against him.

He asked the Chief Minister to resign and order a judicial probe on Tuesday itself. He pointed out that High Court had asked the government whether it had probed the role of the Chief Minister in the solar scam.

Achuthanandan said Justice Sathish Chandran who asked the government why it was not conducting a probe into the role of the Chief Minister had also asked it whether it had unearthed the money fleeced from the people. The court also had asked the police to say what it was hiding in the solar scam.

VS said the court had raised the same questions raised by the Opposition. V S said no Chief Minister in the state had faced such an embarrassment so far. He pointed out that the court had criticised the government for not allowing Saritha S Nair, the accused in the solar scam, to give a statement and for not conducting a probe into the complaint by Bangalore-based industrialist Kuruvila.
