The Planning Board will form a special monitoring committee to keep a tab on the implementation of various welfare measures for adivasis in the tribal belt of Attappadi.
Planning Minister K C Joseph said that the committee would be responsible for coordination of activities of various departments in Attappadi.
Addressing a news conference after the Planning Board meeting here on Thursday, Joseph said that the meeting decided to take immediate steps to improve the basic infrastructure facilities and health care facilities in Attappadi.
The meeting also decided to execute the revamped programme of Attappadi Hill Area Development Society.
It has also been decided to provide help to the children to continue their studies by giving accommodation in hostels set up in the neighbouring towns. They will be provided with all help to continue their studies.
