KC(M) leader T V Abraham passes away

Senior Kerala Congress (M) leader T V Abraham died of liver-related ailments on Wednesday. He was 60. He died at a private hospital in Kochi, where he had been under treatment for the past two weeks. His health condition worsened due to pneumonia and he succumbed to the ailments in the early hours of Wednesday, hospital sources said.

The funeral will be held at St John Nepumcian Church, Kozhuvanal, at 2 pm on Thursday. T V Abraham, who belongs to the Kaippanplackal family of Kozhuvanal near Pala, entered politics through the Kerala Students’ Congress, the student wing organisation of the Kerala Congress (M) and went on to hold many key positions in the party and other institutions.

 He was the state general secretary and a high-level committee member of the KC (M) and a member of the Rubber Board. Though he was nominated as a member of the State Public Service Commission recently, he could not take the oath of office owing to poor health.   T V Abraham also held various other positions, including KSC (M) district president, state general secretary and state president of the Kerala Students’ Congress (J), and KC(J) district president and state secretary.

He is survived by wife Kochuthressia (grama panchayat president, Kozhuvanal) and children Noby Abraham (KMML engineer), Joby Abraham (Kuwait Ministry), Nobby Abraham (Medical College Hospital, Bhopal) and daughters-in-law Sharon (Secretariat), Sonia (Kuwait) and Vijini (Manarcaud).
