KSEB to switch on ‘Labhaprabha’ scheme today

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the ‘Labhaprabha’ energy conservation scheme of the KSEB here at 4 pm on Saturday.

This scheme is meant for domestic consumers and promises gifts and other incentives for saving electricity.Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed will preside over the function scheduled to be held at the KSEB headquarters at Pattom. The first step towards participating in the scheme is to get yourself registered. For this SMS the following details - consumer number, electrical section and meter reading at the time of registering to 9287088808.

The participant will immediately be informed his/her average consumption through SMS and instructions as to when meter readings should be taken. Tips for saving energy also will be SMS-ed. If the consumer wins prizes, that too will be intimated via SMS.  Prizes include 50,000 CFLs every week, 1000 solar lanterns every week, LED bulbs,

T-5 tubes, solar table lamps and solar water heater. The bumper prize is a 1 Kilowatt solar power unit for 100 participants who save the most electricity.

 The KSEB is also launching another campaign - ‘No Loadshedding Campaign’ under which consumer groups like residents’ associations can escape from the loadshedding by saving electricity. Places coming under any of the KSEB feeders will be exempted from power restrictions if conusmption is reduced by at least 10 per cent.
