Pointing out serious procedural lapses by the ACJM (Economic Offences) in recording the statement of solar case accused Saritha Nair, the High Court Vigilance Registrar has submitted his report before the Kerala High Court. Though Saritha had stated that “she was sexually abused by several persons” in her deposition before the ACJM, the latter declined to record the same, said the report. Based on vigilance report, the HC on Tuesday sought explanation from ACJM N V Raju.

According to the Vigilance report, in his deposition before the vigilance registrar N V Raju admitted that Saritha had stated that she was sexually abused by several persons. But the magistrate did not permit her to speak about more facts and declined to record the submission made during the in-camera proceedings.

Going through the report, the HC expressed dissatisfaction over the Magistrate’s action and sought explanation from him on why the in-camera proceedings were not recorded in the court documents. The vigilance wing reported that the magistrate could have asked Saritha to give her complaint in writing.
