The keenly-awaited World Economic Forum India meet, originally scheduled to be held on November 8 and 9 in Kochi,is off.
According to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, the elections that have been announced in the five states in the country has prompted authorities to drop the scheduled meet.
He said the organisers had initially agreed to hold the event at Kochi. “Top political leaders in the country are expected to participate in the event and I’ve informed that with the code of conduct put in place, they will not be able to say anything. Hence it has been cancelled,’’ said Chandy.
