The LDF state committee has decided to organise a campaign jatha from Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram seeking the resignation of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy for his alleged role in the solar scam.
Though it has not been announced officially, CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan will be the jatha captain. Briefing the decisions of the meet, LDF convener Vaikom Viswan said the Chief Minister has made it clear that he is ready to go to any extent to save himself and other culprits in the solar scam.
He said the LDF would meet on October 1 to decide on the modalities of the march.
The meeting chaired by Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan also decided to strengthen the agitation seeking judicial probe into the solar scam and to protest against the government’s efforts to suppress the agitators using brutal force. Viswan said from October 1, the LDF activists would start blocking the Chief Minister. It will also explain to the people about the ongoing protest programmes like black flag demonstrations against the Chief Minister.
He said after October 1, the LDF committees from district to booth levels will plan the agitation.
