IDUKKI: The three-member apex committee appointed by the Supreme Court would visit the Mullaperiyar Dam on Monday in the wake of the water-level in the dam gushing past the 136 feet mark to reach 137.1 feet on Sunday.
The catchment areas of the dam received a rainfall of 24.4 mm while the rainfall in Thekkady was 23.2 mm.
The inflow into the dam was 2,494 cubic feet per second (cusecs). Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu has increased the intake of water from over 400 cusecs to about 1,756 cusecs.
Meanwhile, chief secretary E K Bharat Bhushan visited Idukki dam on Sunday. However, he did not make any inspection of the dam and went away after having a glimpse of the area.
