Govt Urged to Take Steps to Reopen School

KOCHI: The All-Kerala Self Financing Schools Federation has urged the State Government to take appropriate steps to reopen the Jawahar English Medium School, Thiruvananthapuram, where an UKG student was allegedly locked up in a kennel.

Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Federation president Ramadas Kadirur alleged that certain organisations affiliated to certain castes and communities were in the forefront of the protest against the school.

“The boy who was alleged locked up in the  kennel is currently studying in the Wisdom Public School, which is located near the Jawahar English Medium school. Of the 134 students studying in the Jawahar School, 14, including the victim, were shifted to the other school after the controversy erupted.

The remaining students, who are still studying in the Jawahar School, are being forced to discontinue their studies.
