ALAPPUZHA: It was a rare sight for the natives and they looked in awe as a bridegroom chose the aerial route to take his bride home on Sunday afternoon. The groom P Pradeesh, an NRI from Kollam who had to shell out a sum of ` 6 lakh for the helicopter ride, landed at Kollam with his bride Lakshmi, daughter of Dr Jayaram, cardiologist at the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital.
Dr Jayaram, said that the groom’s family chose to have a helicopter service on the wedding day as they were particular that the bride enters the groom’s house by 2 pm. “It’s a mad rush on NH and poor condition of roads made me do it,” he said.
