Maoist Posters Surface in Kasargod District

KASARGOD: After Kanhangad and Nileshwaram, posters favouring Maoism have been spotted on the walls in Kasargod, too. One of the posters reads: “Maoism is not terrorism, but the way to liberate the oppressed. People have the right to take up arms for self-defence. Terminate Operation Green Hunt immediately.”

According to reports, intelligence agencies have started a probe to find out the people behind the posters.

The posters have been put up near the new bus stand, railway station and Cherkala. They have been signed off by an organisation called Revolutionary Democratic Front.

Maoist watchers say it is the first time such posters are being found in Kasargod.

A few days ago, such posters supporting Maoism were widely seen in Kanhangad and Nileshwaram. The police are investigating the case.

Posters of the CPI (Maoist), a banned organisation, had been appearing occasionally in different parts of Kerala for the past two years.  Recently, such posters were seen at Mavelikkara in Alappuzha and Attappady in Palakkad.
