VC Posting: Governor Seeks Clarification

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor P Sathasivam has sought clarification from the Vice-Chancellors of Mahatma Gandhi University and Kalady Sanskrit University on separate complaints that they did not have the prescribed qualification for the post. The Vice-Chancellors have been asked to submit replies within the next 15 days.

The Governor has also sought the view of the government on the issue. MG University Vice-Chancellor Babu Sebastian is facing allegation of not having the prescribed qualification prescribed by the UGC. The complaint submitted to the Governor says that Sebastian did not have the prescribed 10 years’ experience as professor.

The complaint against Kalady Sanskrit University Vice-Chancellor M C Dileep Kumar says that he is embroiled in a Vigilance case and hence cannot continue in the post.
