Vechur Cow Manikyam to Hog Limelight Tomorrow

KOZHIKODE: Guinness World Records authorities will visit Manikyam, the smallest indigenous Vechur cow of the world and a photo shoot will be held on November 22 at the Atholy Natural Park, also known as Sri Subhash Palekar Model Natural Farm. The programme is being organised under the auspices of Earth Care Foundation Trust Calicut and Kamadhenu Natural Farm. Cows of this breed yield around 3.5 litre milk per day. Their milk is expensive, costing around `130 per litre. Usually they are 61.5 cm tall, but Manikyam is 69.9 cm tall and that’s the reason for the authorities to personally visit the cow, said Earthcare Foundation chairman P V Krishnankutty, secretary Padmanabhan U and treasurer Balakrishnan N V at a press conference held here on Tuesday.

Purushan Kadalundi MLA will inaugurate the programme and District Panchayat president Kanathil Jameela will be the keynote speaker.  Guinness authorities Micheal Witty, Ronald Mackechnie, Jackfillery, Mathew Musson and Sidharth Lama are the chief guests. Actor Guinness Pakru will introduce the chief guests.
