NADAPURAM : The Valayam police on Friday registered a case against Perode P M Abdurahman Saqafi, general secretary of Sirajulhuda Education Complex, Parakkadavu, and a prominent leader of the A P Sunni faction, for allegedly making offensive statements against the sexual assault victim, an LKG student, at Nadapuram.
“If the student was harassed in the way it has been alleged, she would have died, fainted and should have been bleeding profusely or at least screamed.” This was how Abdurahman had responded at a meeting held at the Darul Huda English Medium School after the issue came to light. The case was registered on a complaint lodged by the victim’s father before the Kozhikode Rural SP P H Ashraf on Thursday. The complaint was forwarded to Nadapuram DySP Prajeesh Thottathil and the case was registered at the Valayam station.
