Red-faced, They See a Saffron Glow

KOCHI: Disillusioned with reports that those named in the attack of P Krishna Pillai memorial are youths belonging to the CPM and DYFI, nearly 100 people in the locality closely associated with the party have decided to join the BJP.

‘’We are afraid to move along with the party when our own comrades are behind this heinous act. It’s shameful to carry the red flag as it has become evident that infighting in the party can stoop to such a level,”said N P Shashi, former member of Kanjikuzhy panchayat who had a close association with the party though he had to face disciplinary action following the infighting.

“The decision to destroy the memorial was similar to killing one’s mother,” Shashi, who hails from a family of Punnapra Vayalar veterans, said.  “We are from wards 14 and 17 of Kanjikuzhy panchayat. The number is sure to increase in the coming days. We’ve discussed this with the BJP district president and will decide on a date for joining the party,” he said. E
