Pensioners to Step up Stir

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the state government informing the High Court that it cannot help the debt-ridden KSRTC any more, pensioners of the transport utility numbering around 38,000 face a bleak future.

Soosai Antony, state vice-president of the KSRTC Pensioners’ Organisation, said here on Thursday that his organisation was planning to step up agitations demanding the government to shoulder the pension liability.

“Since the government and the KSRTC management are going back on their promises to us, we will block highways across the state for an hour at selected points at 11 am on Nov 29,’’ he said.
