THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan on Friday criticised the Centre for attempted ‘saffronisation’ of the study tools of CBSE students. In a statement here, Achuthanandan said that there were efforts to include the speeches and ideals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the study materials being prepared for CBSE students.

He said  there were efforts to show that India had made great achievements in the field of science ever since ancient time. “It is part of a move to misinterpret and twist the cultural traditions of the country and belittle the advancement of modern science,” he said.“There have been efforts even to depict ‘Mangalyaan’ success as the result of Modi’s ‘Make in India’ call. At the same time, there has been no mention of Vikram Sarabhai or Jawaharlal Nehru who made progress in space science a reality,” VS said.
