Former Kerala Chief Secretary and former State Planning Board Vice Chairman V Ramachandran passed away

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Kerala Chief Secretary and former State Planning Board Vice Chairman V Ramachandran passed away on Tuesday. He was 84.

He passed away in Bengaluru following old-age ailments.

An IAS officer of 1953 batch, he retired from service as Chief Secretary in 1989. He had served as Collector, Finance Secretary, Industrial Development Corporation Chairman and Electricity Board Chairman.

He was Joint Secretary at the Centre during the tenure of Indira Gandhi and Morarji Desai and held the post of Vice Chairman of the UN Committee on Rights to Development.
