THRISSUR: The Thrissur Vigilance Court on Wednesday issued a showcause notice to the Kochi Corporation Secretary for his non-appearance in the court in a case related to alleged river encroachment by actor Jayasurya. Only a representative of the official marked his presence in the court and the showcause notice was furnished under Contempt of Court Act. “The case was registered during the tenure of my predecessor. However, the court has directed that I appear directly on January 12,” said Corporation Secretary Ajithkumar.
