THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Tuesday shifted Chalakkudy DySp K K Raveendran to Kasargod, based on a complaint by a Kochi-based techie. As per the information received from the Home Minister’s office, Raveendran has been shifted from the post on charges of misbehaving with the software engineer.
He has been shifted to the Crime Detachment Wing in Kasargod. Further action will be initiated against him based on the inquiry report. Pathanamthitta Crime Branch SP S Saju has been posted as Chalakudy DySP.
The incident occurred last Thursday, when the car of M V Hariram, who works at the Infopark, Kakkanad, was stopped and he was verbally abused by Raveendran in plain clothes at the service road parallel to the Paliyekkara toll plaza, for allegedly evading the toll charge.
He seized the documents of the vehicle, including the registration certificates, after alleging that Hariram had used the by-route to avoid paying the toll charge. Hariram lodged a complaint with Thrissur Rural SP K Karthick. Karthick had submitted a report to the Thrissur Range IG, following the orders of State Police Chief T P Senkumar.
