Kerala CM Should Clarify on Delay in Filing Review Plea: Kummanam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan on Wednesday asked Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to clarify on the delay caused in filing the review petition against Pinarayi Vijayan in the SNC Lavalin case.

In a statement issued here, he said that the BJP had already said that it was the weak stand taken in the court that led to the defeat of the case. But the government did not  initiate any steps to file the review petition even two years after the CBI court quashed the case against Pinarayi.

He alleged that the CPM had abruptly ended the agitations against the chief minister in the solar scam on the deal reached between the chief minister and CPM to save Pinarayi in the SNC Lavalin case.

“The BJP’s charge against the government has been proved right. It is important to know the stance of Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan.   In the current scenario, it is important for VS to make his stand clear,“ Kummanam said.

Kummanam said that the CPM should not try to blame the RSS or BJP for summoning P Jayarajan for interrogation in the Kathiroor Manoj murder case. Jayarajan was running away from reporting before the CBI to divert the attention of the case and for taking political mileage. If Jayarajan was innocent, why should he be afraid of the CBI.

He further said that the efforts by Kodiyeri Balakrishhnan to dissuade the CBI and to save Jayarajan would not succeed.
