Kummanam Seeks CBI Probe into Bar Scam

BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekaran has demanded CBI probe into bar bribery case.

KOZHIKODE: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekaran has demanded CBI probe into bar bribery case. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said the case would not end with the resignation of Excise Minister K Babu. “Babu was given all help by none other than Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. Even the Chief Minister could not escape from the case by making someone a scapegoat. Chandy has no right to continue in the post of Chief Minister after the court lashed out at the Vigilance for the way it is handling the  bribery case. As such Vigilance should back away from the probe and the case should be handed over to CBI for a detailed investigation,” Kummanam said, while urging the state government to clarify it’s stand on the matter.

He further said the BJP state unit has always supported the demand for a CBI probe into the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan. “We will push the Centre seeking a CBI probe into the murder of the RMP leader. The conspiracies behind the two murders should be brought out,” he said.Regarding the SNC-Lavalin case, the BJP president alleged that there was mystery behind the delay in state government seeking an early hearing of the revision petitions, challenging the CBI court’s decision to discharge CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan in the SNC Lavalin case, before the Kerala High Court. “Both the LDF and UDF are competing in the field of corruption.

They are practising the politics of compromise, partnership deals and corruption. The people of the state are hoping to get liberated from all these things,” Kummanam said.BJP state general secretary M T Ramesh, Kozhikode district president T P Jayachandran Master and others were present.
