Binu Murder Case: Prime Accused Held

ALAPPUZHA: A police team led by Alappuzha DySP E M Shajahan arrested the prime accused in the Binu murder case on Wednesday. The arrested was identified as  Nazarudheen alias Shafeeq 25,  of Aryad in Alappuzha.

According to DySP, group rivalry was behind the killing of Binu 28, Kollamparambil house, at Aryad on January 24 late night during the festival of the Subrahamaniya temple Thalavady.

Shafeeq also sustained injuries in the group clash and was admitted to the Medical College Hospital. The doctors him referred for scanning, but Shafeeq escaped from the scanning room, the DySP said.The probe team also identified other members of the gang. Past enmity led to the  clash in which Binu sustained stabs. The local people rushed him to MCH, but he died on the way to hospital, police said. Two bikes were spotted at the incident spot which helped to identify the attackers, police said.
