DYFI leader’s threat to Kerala cop goes viral

DYFI alleged the Kumbla sub-inspector Melvin Jose had assaulted a member of their organization in the police station.

KASARGOD: DYFI district vice-president C I Subair’s speech threatening a police officer has gone viral on social media. In a protest meet against the arrest of a DYFI activist, Subair delivered a crass speech, threatening Kumbla sub-inspector Melvin Jose.

A few days ago, Jose had arrested DYFI activist Kabeer allegedly with a double-edged knife in Kumbla town. DYFI activists submitted a complaint to the Chief Minister accusing the police of assaulting Kabeer in the station.  Soon after that, in the protest meet held in Kumbla, Subair threatened the sub-inspector that the DYFI - the youth wing of the CPM - would extract revenge.

The DYFI leader said that he would take on the officer if he came without uniform and his house had been located in Kannur, where “the officer should realise we have comrades”.  Subair also picked on Majeshwaram sub-inspector Pramod P in his speech.
