THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ahead of the 22nd Party Congress in Hyderabad in April 2018, the CPM will hold its state conference in Thrissur from February 22-25, 2018. While gearing up for the organisational meets, the CPM will ensure increased representation to youngsters and women in party committees. The committees should reflect the social structure of a region.
As per the organisational norms those who served for three terms should not continue as secretary. The party has decided to increase the strength of its area committees from 19 to 21 subject to approval from the district committees concerned. The two-day state committee meeting which concluded here finalised the schedule for conferences from branch to district-level. The branch conferences will take place from September 15-October 15. The local and area conferences will conclude by December 15.
Agitation
As part of CPM Central Committee’s call for national-level agitations, the party local committees(LC) will organise mass gatherings at 2,000 centres on August 26. The agitations will highlight various issues, including the agri crisis, lack of job opportunities and move to sell profit-making PSUs. In connection with World Peace Day observance on September 1, taluk-level processions will be organised.
