Sri Lankan delegation on a state visit

A Sri Lankan delegation is on a visit to study the local governance mechanism in the state.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Sri Lankan delegation is on a visit to study the local governance mechanism in the state. The 12-member team led by the Sri Lankan Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faiszer Musthapha visited the Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA) in Thrissur on Sunday. The visit is aimed at understanding the role of women in local governments in the state.

The team interacted with Kudumbashree members. They will visit Kalady grama panchayat and Angamaly Municipality for a field visit on Monday. The delegation will arrive at Thiruvananthapuram on the last day of the tour to meet Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan,  Finance Minister Thomas Isaac, former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and  Minister of Local Government K T Jaleel. The delegation of chief secretaries of Northern, Eastern, Uva province and others.
