‘Kaaval’ project formally launched

The ‘Kaaval’ project,envisaged for the reintegration of the Children in Conflict with Law(CCL)into society,was launched in the state on Monday.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The ‘Kaaval’ project,envisaged for the reintegration of the Children in Conflict with Law(CCL)into society,was launched in the state on Monday. It has now been extended to six more districts-- Kannur, Malappuram,Thrissur, Ernakulam,Kottayam and Pathanamthitta.

Already,it is being run as a pilot project in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Palakkad. The remaining districts would be covered next year.
Launching the project, Social Justice and Health Minister K K Shylaja said the children, who were caught up in crime, should be brought back to the mainstream. She called up on the social activists and the people to do their bit in this regard.
According to the minister, ‘Kaaval’ was being extended to the other districts since the pilot project was a major success.
