Man killed, wife and son suffer serious injuries over family row in Kerala 

Kumaran and his brothers Padmanabhan, Raghavan, Narayanan and Sreedharan had a disagreement over digging a borewell on the disputed plot.

KANHANGAD: One person was killed and his wife and son suffered serious stab injuries after a property dispute in family escalated into a knife fight in Ravaneshwaram.

Police identified the deceased as Kumaran (50) in Ravaneshwaram near Kanhangad in Kasargod district, Kerala. His wife Valsala (40) and son Prasad (24) suffered serious stab injuries.

Kumaran, who was stabbed on the back, was rushed to a hospital in Kanhangad, where he succumbed. His wife with a gash on her neck is being treated in a private hospital and Prasad is admitted in District Hospital.

According to sources, at around 6.30 PM on Saturday, Kumaran and his brothers Padmanabhan, Raghavan, Narayanan and Sreedharan had a disagreement over digging a borewell in the disputed plot. The clash escalated by around 11 PM, Hosdurg sub-inspector said.

He said the attacks were suspected to be carried out by Kumaran's brothers and nephews. "We have registered a case and arrests will be made after identifying the assailants," he said.
