THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A petition was filed against Home Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary Nalini Netto, alleging that she had fabricated records, leading to the removal of T P Sen Kumar from the post of the State Police Chief.

The Vigilance Court admitted the petition in file that sought an inquiry against her. The court has directed the Vigilance to inform their stand on January 27.
Nalini Netto was not available for comment on the development.

In his petition, Satheesh Vasanth alleged that the accused had fabricated files by putting back dates and destroying/concealing relevant pages, paving way for the removal of Senkumar. Though all files pertaining to IAS officers, especially featuring serious allegations, have to be seen by the Chief Secretary, the petitioner said Netto had submitted the file in this regard directly to the Chief Minister surpassing the Chief Secretary.

It was also alleged the Home Secretary had constituted the Civil Services Board against the directions of the Supreme Court. The petitioner alleged the move to remove Senkumar from the post of police chief commenced with the constitution of the Board. He also alleged this was done with the intention to cause pecuniary advantage to an officer who was not otherwise eligible for higher pay.

The petitioner said the allegations raised against Senkumar were false and fabricated. One of the allegations raised against Senkumar was during the investigation into the Jisha murder case. The petitioner said reports had pointed out that there were no lapses in the investigation.
