THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Pressing his demand for stringent action in the Law Academy issue, Administrative Reforms Commission chairman V S Achuthanandan has urged the government to register a case against the Law Academy principal.

“The government should cancel the title deed of the land leased to the academy and take back the excess land in its possession. Also in view of the open allegations raised against her, the government can register a case against the principal. Other reasonable demands should also be seriously considered,” Achuthanandan said.

In a radio programme the other day, the CPM veteran had termed demands raised by the students reasonable. From the Education Minister’s response it is clear that even the State Government has the same opinion, he said.

“The academy functions in 13 acres of leased land, of which the institution needs around 2-3 acres for running the college. The remaining land is in the custody of private individuals,” VS pointed out adding some of the allegations raised against the principal are of criminal nature like caste discrimination and forcing students to work in private establishments.
