THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The core committee meeting of the BJP, scheduled to meet in Alappuzha on Friday has been cancelled. Party sources said the meeting was cancelled as state president Kummanam Rajasekharan was not keeping well. Instead, a meeting of state-level office-bearers will be held in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.
Meanwhile, there are reports the party central leadership is unhappy over the way the allegations were handled at the state level. According to reports, the central leadership feels that instead of going for an internal commission, the party should’ve gone for a public investigation.
The corruption scam that rocked the BJP in the state has also brought out the factional feud within the party. While a section of leaders is trying to play down the allegations, some are unhappy over the probe report getting leaked to the media.
