Kerala police file case against 23 for celebrating Pakistan victory

KASARGOD: A local BJP leader has filed a complaint with the Badiadka police against 23 persons for celebrating the victory of Pakistan over India in the Champions Trophy on June 18. According to the complainant Rajesh Shetty, a local BJP leader, the group burst crackers and raised slogans in support of Pakistan after the match.

Badiadka police said they have registered a case on the complaint of Shetty. An officer said the case had been registered under Sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 147 (rioting), 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot) and 286 (negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance) of the Indian Penal Code.
