THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Communist Marxist Party (CMP) leader and former member of the State Planning Board C P John on Saturday criticised the CPM leadership in strong words and rated the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government in the state as an utter failure.

“The CPM itself has started to realise that the Pinarayi government in Kerala is a huge failure. Kerala has become a land of unnatural deaths. Mysterious suicides, murders, and crimes against children have become the norm and it is almost always that Pinarayi’s police are donning the villain’s mask in these incidents,” John said here.

“The growing instances of attacks against women and children in Kerala have already destroyed the cultural legacy of the state. While we have law enforcers who support moral policing, on one hand, there are also others who are shooing away the parents of a girl student who went missing on the other hand,” the CMP leader said.

John demanded the Chief Minister to quit the Home portfolio and sought the formation of a judicial commission constituting top-level judges to study and take measures against violence on women and children in Kerala.

The CMP leader said the current government is the worst when it comes to Plan execution as Rs 12,000 crore of annual Plan worth Rs 24,000 crore has been left unspent.

“The government should apologise to the public for its inefficiency,” he said. John also hit out at the CPM claiming the party has knocked itself out of national politics owing to its stance against secular parties during the recent Assembly elections to the five states.
