KOCHI:The time has come to bring an end to the ongoing feud among different groups in the Malayalam film industry, said Agriculture Minister V S Sunil Kumar.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Thilakan commemoration meeting and award function at Changampuzha Park, Edappally, here on Sunday. “Ours is not just a film industry, but a unique collective of exceptionally talented artists. It is high time we brought an end to the squabble, and created a friendly atmosphere in the industry, so that artists can showcase their talent without any hindrance,” said Sunil Kumar.
The minister also presented the award instituted by the Padmashree Thilakan Foundation to veteran actor Madhu. Journalists Vijayakumar, Joshy Kurien and Vivek Muzhakkunnu were also presented with awards. Foundation chairman and director Vinayan said unethical competition was destroying Malayalam cinema.
