Aluva railway station declared cleanest in Kerala

KOLLAM: In terms of cleanliness, Aluva Railway Station has emerged as the number one among 21 railway stations in the state.

21 railway stations consist of 11 from Trivandrum Division and 10 from Palakkad Division

Parking area cleanliness

Authorities give scant regard for the upkeep of the parking area at railway stations.

8.9%- 11 railway stations under Trivandrum Division registered an abysmally low percentage in cleanliness in its parking areas 

Citizen feedback

44.04% rail users in the Trivandrum Division knew there were penalties on offences related to littering, spitting or urination on railway stations.

31.94 % in Palakkad Division were aware of the same

Each passenger was asked to rate the cleanliness of stations objectively on 40 different cleanliness parameters
