Attempt to rob citizens’ rights: Opposition leader

The ban imposed by the Union Government on cattle slaughter is an attempt to rob the human rights of the country’s citizens, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has said.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The ban imposed by the Union Government on cattle slaughter is an attempt to rob the human rights of the country’s citizens,  Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has said.

“The measure is the latest in the series of fascist moves followed by the Narendra Modi Government to infringe on human rights and fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution for citizens,” he said on Friday.

KPCC president M M Hassan said the announcement on the day of the beginning of Ramzan fasting month was with ulterior motives. “The government order is unconstitutional and an encroachment on the fundamental rights of the country’s citizens,” he said.

Former KPCC president V M Sudheeran turned poetic while criticising the cattle ban through an FB post. “Under the Modi Government, there is no value for human beings, but fancy price for biting dogs and cattle. Pity on the communal government,” he said.
